Default 06 HEMI Trans shifts erratically

I have an 06 RAM QC 4x4 with 71,000 on it. The other night I was leaving work and I let the motor warm up for a few minutes and dropped it in drive and when I applied a little gas the truck acted like it wanted to stall for a split second. Once I was on the road I noticed that the Trans was shifting erratically. It kind of shifts hard and when going from 2-3 it acts like it downshifts then upshifts real fast. It's hard to describe. Or like as the RPM's are climbing while I accelerate it will shift into the next gear for a split second, then the RPM's will shoot up as if I had floored it and then return back to the correct gear.

I hope I'm describing this as good as I can. I'm stumped so far. Any thoughts or has anyone heard of this happening?

check your fluid! the level of it needs to be spot on, and the color and smell need to be good. it should be bright red, and not have a burnt smell. if i were in this position, i would start with a fluid and filter change. clogged or loose filters or bad/incorrect level of fluid can cause this problem. make sure you only use ATF+4 fluid.

Well, I did check the fluid and it seems alright although a fluid change probably wouldn't hurt. Today, however, my check engine light came on and I ran the codes. I only threw one which was p0700. I know this is a Trans fault code of some sort but I don't know much more than that.

the p0700 is a generic tranny fault code, could mean just about anything. try a different scanner maybe? see if it pulls anymore codes? or just go ahead with the fluid/filter change.

Along with the fluid and filter change i would reset the PCM and get a good clean start and see what you get.

Took it to a few different shops and they all diagnosed it as the tranny being toasted. $1600 later I'm still having issues posted in another thread.
