Resonators
How many resonators are on the 4.7l and where are they located? im running a flowmaster 40 in place of the stock muffler and was thinking if i removed the resonators it would give me a little different sound and also read it would cut down on some drone
ok im dedicated its 20 degrees and snow on the ground but i went out there and snapped some pictures
bubble from wheel well:

bubble from underneath looking foward:

flowmaster 40 muffler:

stock y pipe (look how crimped it is):

stock cats:

as far as i can see there is only the bubble for a resonator but that stock y pipe is ridiculous

You know, I'm gonna have to go check mine out this afternoon. While doing the timing cover replacement, don't ask, I did happen to notice the y-pipe looking quite crimped.
Very dedicated there Razor, thanks for the pics. BTW it's sunny and 70f here in Phoenix

It's interesting to me that someone would suggest REMOVING the resonators to cut down on droning, since cutting down the drone is the only reason for installing the resonators.

weed i have no idea im not wanting to chop it right off because im going to use the stock pipe for my exhaust setup since its already mandrel bent im guessing it looks like a glasspack minus the fiberglass
so my exhaust set up would be cats new y pipe flowmaster 40 remove rear resonator and then a nice rolled tip
