Question Dashboard forward panel removal?

I'm installing a new after-market SAT/NAV head unit in my 06 Ram 2500 and I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the forward dashboard panel (closest to windshield)? I have seen pics of a triangular depression and cut-out in the steel sub-structure that can be modified with a steel strap that allows the SAT and NAV receivers to magnetically adhere to. I would prefer using this method in lieu of an external application. From the pics I have seen it looks as if that panel just snaps out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No bolts, just get a rag and a flathead and pry from one side to the other

watch the metal tabs when removing, I allowed one side to slide on my dash and it scratched the plastic

Thumbs up

Thanks Matt and Weedahoe for the quick responses! I ordered a shop manual but wasn't sure if it would get here in time!

Anyone knows alternative to stealership for the replacement center dash? Local dealer wants $170 for this center dash.

When I tried to remove mine (2002 1500), it was so brittle I ended up with million cracks...

Try the junkyards or maybe a truck that is wrecked and getting parted out.
