Default Ram Lamp Out Problem

I have a 2004 Dodge ram 2500, Hemi. About a week ago the lamp out indicator came on and my driver side headlight went out. Early today I replaced the light bulb with a new one but it did not turn on and the lamp out indicator is still on. Anybody know what the problem is? Thanks for any advice.

Broken/frayed/corroded wire. If you have a meter, see if you have voltage at the lamp terminals.

Did you try replacing the light bulb?

Uh, yeah, said so in the second sentence of his post.
Either a bad socket or fuse box assembly.
