Default 2003 4.7L Oil Burner

Hello All,
I have a 2003 QC with a 4.7L - seems to run fine, burns a little oil....sometimes when I start it up I see some blue smoke coming from tail pipe - I assume valve seals? Anyhow, truck has 145,000 miles, time for a rebuild? I hear some horror stories regarding the 4.7 and rods/etc..

Any Advice?

Thanks, Elliott

biggest problem with the 4.7 is cracked heads from over-heating. If there's just some blue smoke at start up, and then it goes away, I'd say you've got some time before you'll need to rebuild
