John for Spoakne Wa. 2004 1500 5.7 285/70/17 tires I see some discussions on gearing. I have the same problem. Truck came with 3.55. Towing 7000lb trailer. My local gear shop has recommended 4.56. The rpm range he said the truck will run seems high to me. I thought 4.10 should be good. But I could be wrong. Anyone have either setup. Looking for recommendations and feed back

Thanks FallGuy

With 325/45/24 tires (36") I run at about 2000 rpm at 70 mph.

Welcome to the site BTW.

But for 275/70/17 (32") I would do 410s also (unless you ever plan on getting bigger tires later)

4.56's with 285 Tires she revs as you see doing 77 MPH US.

Can't find the other photo but at 2200 (Sweet Spot I believe I'm Running 65-70).

For the Money I'd recommend the 456's as these Trucks can only run so fast for so long anyhow and if towing is your thing and you don't own a Diesel this is the Gear Ratio to have IMO.
