Default A/C issues with 2007 Mega cab...

Hey guys,
Noob here! I have a 2007 Dodge Ram Mega cab and I am having issues with my A/C. Sometimes when I start my car, my AC/Heater/Defrost does not come on. I can turn the fan on high and still nothing. The next time I start the truck, I have full AC, heat and defrost. Sometimes I have to start/stop the truck multiple times to get the fans to turn on. Is this a compressor relay switch issue? I live in Florida and need my AC!!!! What do I need to look for?

Scott

Sounds like the circuit isnt getting power through the ignition switches. I would replace the ignition switch first and move from there

Its gotten worse the last few days...It went from rarely not working, to not working and I could restart the truck and it would work, to rarely ever working. Whatever the issue is, it is getting worse. Relay switch? Low refrigerant? I guess its time to take it to a garage....this could get expensive!!!

Low freon would only cause the compressor to come on, the blower would still work as normal. Either the ignition switch is failing, there is a bad connection at the hvac controls in the dash of the power distribution box under the hood is going bad. You need a test light or volt/ohm meter to see where you are losing voltage.

Everything gets powered through the ignition switch. If its not working and you stop the engine by turning the key backwards and then flip it forward to start it and everything works, then it is likely the ignition switch.

Noticed today when the AC was not blowing, that if I hit the blower motor, the AC would start blowing. I am going to replace the blower motor. Its only 3 screws and a plug..how bad can I really mess that up??!?!?

Did that work? I am having the same problem! I am about to change the blower motor and resistor.
