Default Rear Diff Oil Change?

Is there a drain plug that I am missing? If not please recommend how to change correctly. I have never seen a diff without a drain plug. Also, how to measere axle size, I believe I have a 9 1/4.

Thank you in advance.

Yup gotta remove the cover, but, you get to inspect the inside. The aftermarket covers are expensive, but, I'd love to have one on mine. Just waiting for them to come down some.

There's gotta be a less expensive alternative.

Anyone tap their own plug in the stock or does anyone make a steel cover with a drain plug?

I thought you could change your rear diff fluid yourself? Unfortunately, I was having some popping so I took it into the dealer a few weeks ago and had them change and inspect the rear differential/fluid. Cost me $128 but at least it got inspected too. The guys here on base at the AutoBody shop said they could help me change it next time. Is there no drain?

Anyone just use a siphon and refill method? Pros/Cons. Asking because my wife's durango has the sway bar attached directly to the diff cover.

Really, I'm not sure I'd want to try and siphon a fluid that heavy out of something. You're probably better to remove the cover and really clean the bottom of the diff. out anyway and do a visual inspection. It's not that big a deal, just make sure you seal the cover well with RTV and use a quality lube.
