Default My 02 Dodge Ram 360 will not start in the cold...

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram QCAB 360 4x4 and I began to have problems with it once got really cold outside. I have tried for a couple of days to get it started with no luck....it will crank and crank but not fire up.

The last couple of days it has been in the singe digits 1 to 5 degrees with -19 degrees windchill.

I tried charging the battery and using a quick start function on my battery charger with no luck...the engine will just crank and crank.

I have heard of possible PCM problems with these trucks.....WHere is the PCM and how do I go about removing it so I can try warming it up and reinstalling it?

Today it is warmer.... 28 degrees

No I have not...I thought a block heater was only a option on Diesel pickups. Mine is just a 1500 series with 360 engine.

If there is a block heater option for the 1500 series then where exactly would the plug in be at?

I noticed on the passenger side of the engine block there is a two prong outlet coming out of where one of the freeze plugs should be....I know that is probably the engine block heater....but where do I get the plug that fits the adapter so I can plug it into an electrical outlet?

If it keeps cranking and not starting, I'm leaning towards a fuel delivery problem.

I guess the fuel pump or something else could go bad overnight. I tried to get the carb(throttle body) hat removed so I could shoot some starter fluid in there but I could not get it off. I loosed the belt clamp that attaches it but it will still not come off.

Throw some gas line antifreeze in to see if maybe you don't have a little water freezing in the fuel lines...but I agree it sounds like a fuel delivery problem.

I had a similar problem. It ended up being electrical. The main problem was a cracked distributor. Mine would not start only on days it snowed because moisture was getting in, so yours could be something different. Maybe fuel pump?
