I have a 2004 1/2 dodge ram 3500 and I recently put a front end kit on it from EMS, so now it has locking hubs. I have also changed almost all of the U-joints in the front of the vehicle and have had a few other odds and ends fixed on in the front. Anyways, put the ems kit in and there is a grinding sound coming from the front end - - but it only happens when the truck is in 4 wheel drive or when the hubs are out. Took apart the hub kit again and the problem is not there. The inner u-joints or bearings have some lee-way, which they are supposed to, but would not make that sound. Cannot tell if the sound comes from one side or the other, seems to just come from the front end in general. Anyone have any ideas?
