Just had mine done a couple months ago. The dealer did mine. They had
to replace the upper mounts as well cause the bolts were frozen on there
from rust and needed to be cut off. Common problem with them i found out
afterwards. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

How much did the dealer soak you for? I'll have to replace mine pretty soon too, except I'm staying away from the factory ones.

I had purchased a special warranty but if it came out of my pocket it would have been almost $800 installed. Thats for the struts, upper mounts
and installation with alignment. "Crazy" With the warranty i had a $100
deductable thank god. If i was just paying out of pocket i would have got
aftermarket struts as well instead of the stock ones.

Well, I would install a descent pair of aftermarket one's if your going to go ahead and do it.
I say this because if you replace the bad one with another defective crappy bouncy factory one, your going to need to have an alignment done whether you do 1 or both sides. That's $80 alone. Plus, if you were to get the Bilstein 5100 lift struts for $230, you'd get decent struts and a level for the price of one strut the dealer charges.

In the FAQ section, there are service manuals for download that will provide all the info you need to get the job done. I'd say it'll take you all day to do the first side and half a day to do the other.

Default Front strut replacement

Hope you have better luck than I did. I had to replace the right front control arm. Bottom strut bolt was frozen to the bushing... no bushing available. Control arm was around $460...
Cross your fingers.

Wow all I asked for was information of changing struts? All I got was Horror stories and mortgage payment sized bills to replace a 70 dollar part? Looks like a job that 5 bolts needs removed, a ball joint nut, and a very large spring? maybe a few hours work for a beginner? Not sure maybe even have a torch handy for heat? But wow!!!
