Default Backup Camera Install

I've scanned the forum, but haven't seen a pic with an ideal location. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 and am looking to add a backup camera, but I want to find a nice place to install the camera that has a clean look.

Please post pics if you have some. Any help is appreciated.

Some use license plate holders, some use the plate above the ball if they have a body lift and Ive seen some mounted in the air deflector thing on the top of the tail gate

zkeith, did you grab a setup from a junkyard? I've been pondering that. It is a little harder to see out the back with my topper installed.

JDG, I like that military transport!!

I was thinking about the same thing. Would you be able to connect it right to the navigation system screen?

For those with it in the air deflector on the tail gate, they simply used a hole saw to drill it out

I have an aftermarket Pioneer deck right now that will accept a camera. I haven't purchased the camera yet, so I was hoping to see some picks of custom installs or even license plate frame cameras on a similar truck. I'm just trying to see what will look best.

I'm not sure about the angle of the picture for the camera installed in the deflector, so I'm hoping someone who has done this will comment.

someone did it on DT i think. It looked really good. The camera Rubberfrog bought and I also ended up getting off of amazon for $30 was great. It had infrared for night (could see clear as day) and a great picture. Wide viewing angle also.

I think the air deflector would make for a better camera angle than almost any other place. Most the new trucks with back up cameras are there or in the tailgate handle
