Default Knocking sound

I have a 2004 Ram 1500, regular cab, Hemi 4X4 with only 43000 miles. I recently installed McGaughy's 2" drop shackles, deleted the overload spring, and changes wheels/tires from stock 20's to 305/45r22 Nitto Dune Grapplers. No adjustment was done to the tortion bars. Now, after 2 weeks, I have 2 new sounds that weren't there before.

The first is a knocking sound from under the truck. The knocking can be lightly felt in the floor panels and is proportional to speed. It becomes more pronounced when braking and while making sweeping turns to the right. There is no vibration in the steering wheel and no pulsing in the brake pedal.

The second noise seems to be coming from the driver's front wheel. It also happens when turning, but not as consistently as the other sound. Again, no vibration in the steering wheel is felt.

So far, these have no affected driveability and no codes have been thrown, but I'm still hesitant to drive the truck again until I can identify/fix the problem.

I tend to believe that these issues are related, but at this point, I wouldn't know where to begin. Any ideas, solutions, or help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

J

Really? Already pushed to page 2 with no ideas from anyone? Damn. I thought for sure Weed would have something.

Anyway, I'm about to leave work and start wrenching...Seriously, at this point I have no ideas and could use any insights you have. I'm a more than a little worried since this is my daily driver and I don;t think I can deal with being driven around by my wife.

It's only been a few hours. Hold on for a little while and I'm sure someone will chime in. Sorry I can't help. Suspension stuff is one of the only problems I haven't had lately.

I found the problem, and it wasn't even in the top 10 possiblilities. Apparently, the Tread Quarters in my town didn't think it was necessary to torque the lug nuts on the new wheels. The lugs were so loose I could turn them by hand. So, What I thought was a bad wheel bearing ended up just a loose wheel. Thank God I didn't drive it today.

Thanks for looking, at least. Oh, and to the Yorktown Tread Quarters, please feel free to smooch my pooper.

I was thinking wheel bearing also at first or e-brake on the rear. But glad you got it worked out. I would certainly call the shop and let them know to check and double check and BE more careful.
