Default Heater Blower

Got into my truck after it was running for 15 min and it felt a little cold. Went to turn up the blower control and notice it only works on High. WTH???

Options? How can I trouble shoot this? Could it have thrown a code? I have tried cycling the ignition key but no luck, maybe I will try O'Rileys?

Any ideas would be helpful, it's a little cool in WI.
Thanks

After doing a little research on the forum, I see it maybe caused by the resistor. Where is that located? Passenger side? Go from the bottom of the dash?

It makes sense.
Thanks

mine actually just did this, i had a cluster of wires under my glovebox that the insulation had worn away and was shorting out so i taped them up and it works fine, mine would blow on high only and even then would only be partially warm, its like 6 wires above the floorboard under the glovebox

Resistor block most likely. Not a frequent occurrence, but it happens.

Yeah, the blower motor resistor. I just replaced mine, roughly $50 at local auto parts store. Cheaper online, but I'm an instant gratification type of guy.

Held in by 2 phillips head screws, is the thing w/ the plug going into it under the dash below the glove box.

Agreed, the blower resistor block. It controls the motor speed by reducing voltage from 12v and lower depending on the speed.

Udpate. it was the resistor. Removed it and noticed a little brass piece was broken. I resoldered it and going to try reinstalling it today. Hopefully it works and then it will save me 50bucks.
