Just back from a vacation to Florida. Threw the hag and brats in the camper and headed to Fort Wilderness then West Palm Beach.

Along straight flat road, the norm would be 65 mph at about 2100 rpms.

For many different reasons I would need to let off the gas, then get back to 65 mph.

At times it didnt move back to 65 mph / 2100 rpms. I would now be at 65 mph but at 3000 rpms under the same road conditions and pressure on the gas pedal. Seems like the tranny just didnt want to kick down.

Any thoughts ?

This may be an obvious question, but did you run it in tow/haul?

 

Yes, the button at the end of the shifter was depressed.

 

Mine will do that when I tow the boat. It will eventually settle down again once I'm at a sustained speed. It does this to keep from hunting gears.

 

Yeah ... but what seems strange to me is that it stayed at 3k for quite some time, under the same road conditions, for ummm ... I dont know .. maybe 20 - 25 miles.
