Unhappy Tie Rods worn at under 30k?

I just had my tires replaced today, and when they had the truck up on the lift, they discovered that both front tie rod ends are worn to the point that there is noticeable wobble in the wheels just by grabbing them and rocking back and forth. I have 29,250 miles on my truck, and the worst I've done with the truck is some dirt roads (and even on those, I'm careful and drive slowly). Has anyone else had an issue so early with these? I'm still under warranty, so I don't envision a problem, but I don't want to have to do this every 30k!

I believe there was a TSB issued for the '08s with flaky tie rod ends. Replacements shouldn't wear out nearly as fast...

Agreed but there is no guarantee any part WILL last for X amount of miles. While they are warrantied and SHOULD last, thats not to say they will. So keep this in mind with anything and everything you buy and make sure you stay on top of your preventive maintenance schedule and keep an eye on everything.
