Default Question about Seats Ram / Durago Compatibility

First of all, I would like to say Hello, I'm a newbie

I just bought a 2005 Quad Cab SLT with a Long Bed.

I'm really happy with it but the seats are to hard for my wife on long trips.

I want to upgrade to leather and found a good deal on some Durango Seats.

Does anyone know if they will work in my Truck?

If not does anyone know the best place to get a leather upgrade seat cover kit?

Thanks

I would assume that Durango seats would not fit Ram trucks. They might be interchangable with Dakota trucks, but not Rams. I would start by checking out the links available on this site for seat covers.

I would find a good upholstry shop and let them mod the seats. What exactly is the problem with the seat? Is it too hard, too soft, not enough back support, etc?

They are too hard.

I think I'm going to have to add an latex insert to the center of the bottom cushion.

No need for a professional shop, installing a leather kit in a late model vehicle is easy for the average do-it-yourselfer.

If you are going that route, Katzkins is one of the best aftermarket leather kits IMHO. Be aware that you will need some strong fingers and a good set of hog ring pliers for the job. You may also need some of the spray contact cement if you get the door inserts. Best of luck. If you do this, perhaps you can do a DIY article for other DF members.
