Default 4x4 not working.

I have a 2006 quad cab. The 4x4 will not work, the light light on the dash keeps flashing. The truck will not spinthe front tires in the snow. You can hear the solonoid in the Tcase moving when you select 4wd and then back to 2wd. 4lo also does not work.

the flashin 4x4 light is a diagnosic check failure. i would start by crawling under your truck and take a look at where the wires run into the actuator and make sure they have a good connection and are not a corroded up.

ope no corrosion and wires are tight. very clean and neat under there actually. I never take the truck off road.

Ok if that is fine then your next plan of attack is to remove the actuator unit and see if it is not funtioning properly or binding when you shift into 4x4.

ok that will have to wait till after I am off work. This is really frustrating I cant find anything on line any where that will tell me what is wrong. I am not sure what is going on because I can hear the solonoid moving but the "service 4wd" light comes on and flashes for a second or two when I start the truck. The 4x4 indicator light stays flashing when it is suposed to be on. I tried running the codes with my superchips but nothing.

That pesky electronic-shift transfer case. Trucks should all come with manual-shift transfer cases. Only All-Wheel Drive vehicles should come with electronic-shift.
