Who wants a Leather Interior?
I would like to upgrade the premium cloth seats in my 2005 SLT Quad Cab to leather but I just can't bring myself to pay $500+ for the kit.
I am negotiating with a couple leather seat cover dealers to see if I can do a group buy on these but I need to have some numbers for them.
Replacing your cloth covers with leather covers is not as hard as some of you may think, they are basically held on with clips and if you have the basic tools and a little patience you can do the work yourself.
I would be willing to provide installation instructions via the internet and I would accept phones call if you needed more details on a particular part of the installation.
These kits include covers for everything, seats (of course), headrests and the center console and they are normally the Dark Graphite color with the Rams Head Logo.
These covers will look and fit just like the OEM covers you remove.

Thanks
C'mon GsxR he is the same guy that want to upgrade his seats for his wife. His other post is down a couple, but I think this guy might me legit with his inquiry. Hey Boba, what seats are you looking at and by whom? I personally prefer cloth to leather. If I were you I'd just get a company or you to add some "memory foam" or fab up one of the gel inserts. The only real complaint my wife has is that there is no lumbar support on the SLT premium cloth seats on the passenger's side.
Eaither way I don't like leather unless you have a lot of side bolstering (spelling?). Otherwise you'll tend to slide around to much. Another thing is you may want to think about the climate that your state has. If you get very cold weather, you'll need heated leather seats.
I do not sell these kits, I am Helicopter Electrician and I work at the Naval Aviation Depot, Cherry Point NC.
I do sell stuff on ebay but it's mostly Dewalt Tools and Star Wars Replica Props and recently, our Orlando Time Share
I just bought this new truck, it replaced our Town Car and my other truck.
But as osteodoc08 mentioned the seats are too hard and we like leather.
So I have been looking into this and decided that I could kill 2 birds with one stone, upgrade to leather and while the covers are off I could replace or modify the original cushion with a better foam, I'm looking into a talalay latex insert.
In my other hobby I have organized many projects and group buys and when I saw that this forum does group buys I thought it would be a good opportunity to try and put this together to help myself and any other person interested in doing this.
I'm a bit disappointed that the first reply to my thread accused me of being a spammer, if anyone wants to check my reputation got to the Replica Prop Forum at http://www.rpf.invisionzone.com/index.php?showforum=6 and ask about how I have handled projects in the past.
You could also check me out on ebay, my user ID is bobadebt and I just recently lost and auction for this set of seat covers http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
If you want leather but are worried that you can't handle the installation I will be able to help you do it. I have a lot of experience in writing online tutorials and this looks like a breeze compared to many of my other projects.
If you still have doubts about my credibility just let me know what I can do to put your mind at ease.

Easy there Boba. One person doesn't speak for all of us! Just keep in mind that people that have a low post number and are asking about products and offer help above and beyond as you have are typically trying to sell thier product. This is just from previous experience. We get many spammers and we have the paying vendors to "protect". I'm sure you can understand were we are coming from.
Now that being said, we do appreciate your future help and the possibility for a group buy. We are generally a bunch of friendly folks. Congrats on the purchase of your new Ram.

Are there any paying vendors on this forum that offer leather kits?

Well it looks like there is zero interest in this.
Since I am the only one that wants to do this I doubt I will create any kind of DIY article.
They can be very time consuming and I doubt anyone would read it.
