Chrysler did call, and left a message with my service writer. My service guy has tried for two days to get a hold of the people at Chrysler, and left messages. No return calls from them yet. The saga continues....
The dealership did say, they would give me 4K for my truck as is. That was so nice of them....

I would go with the junk yard deal. You can go within a 100 or 200 mile radias and find a good engine, you might even find one in a car that they hav'nt torn apart yet and can hear it run and even get some kind of a warranty with it. If you feel you have to go with a rebuilt them jasper engines are really good with a good warranty. check with all your freinds and reatives to find somebody they know will do a good job of installing it then check that place out. stay away from the dealer

Last update gents...
Mechanic bought the truck for 5400 cash
Last offer I found was 1500 for a junk yard motor, and 1K to install it. Guess I was just burned out, and gave up.
Thanks for all the tips and advice through the years. I always am amazed at the level of know how here, and will continue to browse tips. Cheers!
