Power wire?

Can someone tell me what the power wire mod does? I found the DIY video on how to do it but wasnt sure the benefit of it? Thanks in advance

It's a resistor mod that fools the pcm into thinking the air temp is cooler than what it really is. This dumps more fuel in the engine and give you a little more power. It's negligible at best and does use more fuel.

But it uses more fuel only at WOT and not at normal driving.
