Instead of rebuilding or replacing my 4.7 (after the head gasket blew) with another 4.7 I'm doing a 5.7 swap as well. My donor truck is a 2004 2wd QC Hemi Ram. My truck is a 2002 4x4 QC 4.7 Ram. I pulled all the wiring from under the hood to under the dash w/ the electronic gas pedal, the engine w/ all the accessories, motor mounts and the cats, the computer, the power distribution center, the evap system and the radiator from the donor truck. I'm in the process of pulling the engine and everything from my truck. I will keep updates as I continue with the swap. I will post pictures also.

 

ive got an 02 1500 with a 4.7 and a five speed manual I want to put a 03 hemi in it but idk if the trany will work with the hemi??

 

The 4.7 and 5.7 Hemi have the same trans.. The difference is in the computer. Yes you're 4.7 will bolt up to the 5.7 Hemi..

Hello I just started doing a swap just like yours i got a 2002 2wd 1500 with the 4.7 and got a whole donor truck 2003 2500 2wd 5.7 hemi. I have the motors pulled and pretty much ready to go but i wanted to know to get the pedal assembly out do i have to take apart the dash? is there an easier way but will i have more problems? If it takes more work to get the whole pedal assembly out but les hassle in the long run id rather do that. Any thing you can provide and if you got some pics that would be great. Thanks in advance.

 

Had a radiator hose blow out while my wife was driving. Motor over heated and now blown head gasket has led to more issues. Currently have an 02 with 4.7 wanting to swap to a hemi. This would without a doubt be the largest undertaking of mechanical work I've undergone but I have a friend who has done stuff like this before. Is there someone who might be able to give me a detailed item list of everything I will need. This way I can start looking for and pricing items.

 

 

I realize that this is an old thread but worth a shot,
I have an 03 ram 1500 4.7 and recently dropped in a 2003 5.7 hemi. I am in the process of installing the apps along with the connector. I removed the old cruise control servo. How did you run the wires to make the connector work?
I have the connector that plugs into the apps from the hemi...glad I got it snipped and sent with the motor so I have some wire to work with.
you wrote that you ran 6 wires? Did you cut and connect to the previous existing harness from the cruise control connector?
Any help would be great.

So I have 2003 that was made with 4.7 and
I bought hemi that came out of 2002 . Going by your post your is 02 that you got motor out of 03. Well problem I have now is that the transmission wiring doesn't match and the 4.7 had to extra wires on top motor then the hemi . other then that match up . Any idea how I can fix the problem. Mind you I'm not smarts with vehicles. I bought motor because o rielys said it would match

 

Hemi wasn't available until 03. Don't know the question about your trans problem, perhaps hit the junk yard and pull a harness and computer for an 03 5.7....
