Hey T~ I was just reading through you're thread again. What's the Difference between NGC and CEL with EVAP Perge unit ? Which one does my 02 Ram Have ? and is it different than the 04' Ram my Motor came from ?

Your 2002 has JTEC stuff...different evap purge solenoid and a different leak detection pump back by the fuel tank. In 2003, they went to the NGC computer setup as well as changed the evap stuff. Let me know if you need any part #s.

I did my swap over a year ago from a 2004 4.7 to a 2005 5.7 and the BIGGEST issue i still have today is that darn throttle...At the time I needed the truck (daily driver) so I just rigged my 4.7 throttle cable to the drive-by-wire unit from the hemi under the battery tray...never had a problem with it so i never fixed it right, now i have problems with it...I didnt read through all 8 pages of your thread so I apologize if it was mentioned already, but what did you do to make that conversion work, besides buying the expensive throttle body conversion kit they make for our trucks? Over the year my throttle cable finally snapped, so I need to fix it asap

You just need the throttle cable that goes form the pedal to the APPS unit. I think the part # is 53032369AB, which can be found here or your local dealer. Might want to try your local dealer and at least confirm the part #. If you need it bad, they will probably be the best place to get it since they'll probably get it in the next day.

you sure thats right? from quick research it looks like the factory throttle cable on the 4.7? its suppose to be a perfect fitment or?

Yea I don't think I looked at the diagram correctly. Could be 52010447AA? Can't hurt to verify with dealer.

My truck runs good with the 4.7 evap purge and leak detection pump, but my check engine light won't go off . I also changed the wheel hub on the drivers side to a 04' Hemi ram "With Sensor" , but it didn't stop the abs light to quit blinking..I'm pretty sure that's also one reason my cruise don't work..
IF you can get you're hands on a 04 leak detection pump and evap purge . I think that might make the check engine light turn off. I'll buy it if it's not too much . As for the abs light , I haven't figured that out yet..
Thanks T- BTW~ Did you get the 04' harness hooked up yet ??

Yeah it will run fine with the old evap stuff, but if you want to get closer to turning off the CEL you'll have to upgrade.

For cruise, you'll need that sensor plus the new cruise switches including the extra wire that you need to run through the clockspring and back to the PCM.

Your abs controller just needs reset from the PCM change. With every PCM swap I've done (2002 to 2003, 2003 to 2004, and then 2004 to 2005), my abs & brake light would either blink or blink and ding. Resetting the tire size with superchips turns it off every time.

Yes, I finished the harness and am now running a 2005 PCM with a DSP performance engine & tranny tune. I only have 2 codes for EGR, which will be gone soon with a custom tune.

Are you happy with the tuner ? I'm looking for one but there are so many out there and they all claim to be the best / I like to hear from peoplle who have them.."what kind" How it performes etc....

Nice work man I'm in the process now of doing this same swap but i have a few questions will this swap work on my 2000 dakota I've read a lot on this swap but no on has done it with a 2000 model...and also will the 5.7 work on my 4.7 transmission its a 5-speed
