need help with 24" tires
hi all!
in a few weeks my new truck (2005, qc, 4wd, hemi) finally will be delivered. it comes with the factory 20" chrome wheels.
now i´m thinking of upgrading my truck with nice looking 24" chrome rims. will it change the ride - positive or negative?
got any ideas where to buy them? due to the fact that i am located in austria, an online shop would be nice.
thanks, robert

Your cornering and overall handling should improve, but I think in this case you are more limited by the weight and size of the truck as to how much actual performance will improve, you can only do so much with a 7000# truck, no matter what tire you put on it.
The downside (and IMO a BIG downside) is that the already rough factory ride is going to seem like you had been driving on a nice fluffy air cushion if you put those low profile 24's on it, you will feel every single bump. I personally wouldn't want a truck that I couldn't drive like a truck, if I wanted low profile tires that IMO belong on a sports car, I would buy a sports car, especially at USD$30,000 or thereabouts. That much dough can buy a pretty nice car. Especially when you look at dropping another $4k-$5k on wheels/tires.
It all comes down to personal taste and what you want your vehicle for tho. if you do nothing but roll around town or on nice evenly paved roads the 24's should be fine I guess. If you want to take a long road trip and not have your internal organs feel like they just went thru a blender, my recommendation is to stay with the 20's.
My opinion only, its your truck, and there is no denying that the larger wheels will look nice.
Edit- Just noticed it was a 4x4, so you might be thinking of lifting it and putting big rubber on 24's. If that is the case..Cool! wish I had the money to do it. If not, don't plan on EVER taking that 4x4 offroad with 24's and low profile rubber, you will destroy those expensive wheels in about 5 seconds.
I put 22" rims on my truck about a month ago and i have seen hardly any difference
