On the 5.7 it requires a 8mm and an 10mm. You simply disconnect the electrical harness and unbolt the unit. Swap it out and tighten it down and reconnect the harness. Resetting the PCM helps.

I cant imagine the 4.7 being much difference.

However, there are links to the Service Manuals below in my signature

The 4.7 is a BI*CH compared to the Hemi. Why the hell they made it so hard to get to when it's right up front in the Hemi is a mystery to me. I could change it 5x over in my truck (Hemi) in the time it would take me in my Jeep (4.7).

In addition to the service manuals in 'Weeds signature, there may be a DIY in the FAQ section...

I found it at the back of the Srv Man. It is on page 8390 of 8410

REMOVAL

4.7L Engine

The electronic EGR valve and solenoid assembly is attached to the rear of the left cylinder head. An exhaust gas routing tube (3) connects the EGR valve to the intake manifold.

1. Remove electrical connector at top of EGR
valve solenoid.

2. Remove tube mounting bolt at intake manifold.

3. Remove two bolts connecting EGR tube to valve assembly.

4. Remove gasket located between EGR tube flange and EGR valve assembly.

5. Remove two EGR valve mounting bolts.

6. Separate valve assembly from engine.

7. Remove and discard metal gasket located between cylinder head and valve assembly.
