Need suggestions on my Dodge Ram,,,,will not start
I have a 2005 ram 1500 5.7L Hemi, and it will not start
This morning all was fine with it, drove it around, then this afternoon, I tried to start it and all I am getting is 1 click noise coming from the starter, I am not getting any codes related to the starter, I have checked my battery, and it is fine, Does any one know what this could be?
Sounds like a dead spot in the starter
have someone hit the starter(not hard)
and someone trying to start it at the same time
or check for power at the starter
I have tried that one as well, I just tried sparking it with a screw driver, and that made it turn over, so that being said, it seems like i need to replace the solenoid,,,,does that seem accurate?
Starter and solenoid are pretty much the same. I suppose you could find just the solenoid, but it may not be much cheaper. I'd try a different battery first.
sounds like you have a dead spot in the starter. i have one in my dakota i have been running it that way for about 1 1/2 yrs now. being manual its easy to get started but with the auto i would say just change the starter. Summit makes a very good high torque i would go with. and its only gonna be about 50 bucks more then the stock one from your local shop or parts store and it is shipped right to you ready to go.
