Default ac compressor ate itself

I was pulling out on to the road yesterday when a hear a pop then a load hissing noise, i pull over and pop my hood to see that the noise was comming from my ac compressor, which was now slinging grease outa the clutch. after further inspection i have found that the compressor had locked up which almost instantly blew out the clutch. Think God the pulley bearing is still good so i can still drive my truck as long as the ac is off. So looks like im goin to be putting in a new compressor in the very near future. Any tips? (from people that have done the change before only, Thanks)

You must vacuum down the system after replacing the compressor. I Would also replace the accumulator as it will have shavings in it too. After vacuuming down, the proper amount of oil will also need to be added.

I planned on replacing the accumulator also cause of the moisture when you open the system up. i have a knowledge of how to do it i was just wondering if i was goin to run into anything crazy on these dodges thats diff from doin it on any other car.

You shouldn't, it looks to be a fairly common set-up.
