Default hemi prob

hey guys,

my 06 ram has been giving me a few probs as of late. Today it died on me as i was making a turn. Also i has spit and sputtered a few times. my check engine light is on and i comes up this p0405
Now i did plugs less the 5 thou ago and am cleaning the air filter now. We dont put many k's on it as the wife drops the kids off at school and pics them up a 5 min drive each way other then that she doesnt get to much driving.
Anyone have any ideas on what it could be. I normally have the tank full at all times but i am now using up all that fuel before i put any into it.

Another question also.... is the egr covered under warranty and i keep seeing people are saying i need to get my pcm flashed.
Thanks alot guys

My 06 has died a numerous time while making a sharp turn. Few times while backing up and once when pulling out of my drive way. It was running fine then the rpms dropped and died. But i didnt get any engine light or codes. I'm thinking my problem has something to do with either the power steering pump pulling the rpms down enough to kill the engine or something in the torque converter. And i'm leaning towards the torque converter because I cant seem to ever mirror the problem while in Park. I could be wrong, that tends to happen alot ha.

Replace your EGR valve. A faulty, usually clogged up EGR can certainly cause your truck to stall. Clogged EGR leads to a buildup of NOX which will cause hesitation, rough idle and stalling. On average, an EGR valve will last 40-50k miles, but frequent short trips causes more gasses to build up as operating temperature is not built up to burn them off, which can result in a substantially shorter EGR valve life.
Not a warranty item, it's considered a replaceable consumable. Pick you one up at the auto parts store for about $40 or if you are so inclined to support your dealer, go give them about $80 for one.
About a 10 minute job to swap one out. If you can remove two bolts with a socket and unplug a plug you got this job down pat...
