Default Oil advice

I was traveling out of state the other day and my temp gauge went straight to "H". I immedialtely pulled to the shoulder on the interstate and turned off the engine. I popped the hood and found anti freeze all over the underside of the hood. I let the engine cool before I restarted and limped off the interstate, about a mile, where I called for a tow.

Q. Should I change the oil due to the engine heating up? I run Castrol Syntec in it. I have a few hundred miles to go before the next oil change.

By the way, my radiator resovier was cracked on the bottom.

I don't think that short a period would degrade an engine oil, but if it's that close to needing to be changed, I'd be more inclined to go ahead and do it now.

See a lot of '02s with failed radiators lately.

Is this a 4.7 engine? If so, it REALLY doesn't like to overheat. Keep an eye out for coolant loss as this would indicate that you lost the head gasket or worse, cracked a head(s)...

I dont know if you got it fixed yet, but I wouldn't pay anyone to change out a radiator. It is super easy and its nice to keep whatever cash we have in our pockets.

Checked the oil and it didn't look burned..has a light brown color to it. I think I'll let it go a few more miles.

Well, if Mobil 1 is good up to 1600*F, I'd think Castrol Syntec can withstand a mild bump in temp. I'd worry about heads warping before the oil being torched.
HERE is a link to Mobil 1's Turbo charger oil test
