Default an alternative to UConnect

I recently picked up a 07 Ram 1500 to replace my 2000 1500 and wanted to put in the Uconnect system but found the price of it to be a bit steep. I was searching for an alternative and spoke with a friend that does car audio work and he mentioned that I should check into Rostra. They make the Converse that works just like the UConnect except you dont get the display on the radio. You get in the truck and it automatically connects to your phone when the truck is started. The clarity is excellent and it looks as if it could be factory installed. Installed was just under $200.

Why not get an after market head unit with Navi and DVD and one that uses BT for cell phone connections? That way you better sounds, Navi, DVD playing options and still get cell phone usage

+2 on the BT stuff, even a good Garmin GPS will have BT and sounds real good.
