Default Help with headlight disassembly

I followed Matt99's instructions I removed the two torx screws and then removed the nut under the shroud on the fender but it will not come off. There is still a white clip like thing it is almost shaped like a triangle over a metal **** on the upper outside corner of the headlight that is hard as hell to get to. How do you get this thing off Ive tried prying, squeezing, and pushing it and it wont budge. Any help???

I was going to say, they don't just come out easily, you have to rip the damn things off of the front of the truck.

Yea thats what i had to do pretty much. It was my first time so I was little scared to pull that hard at first. Just got them out of the oven and they are disassembled moving on to prep and paint.

Cool, be very careful when you put them back together. Be patient and very gentle as to not scratch the fresh paint. My drivers side came out perfect, but I did slightly scratch the passenger side but it isn't noticeable unless you are right up on it. I am happy with how mine came out.

Thanks man I appreciate the advice. Yea I got them painted about to hit them with the clear coat and probably let them sit the rest of the night and put them back together tomorrow. My lens are pretty dirty slightly yellow and have some scrathes. I got the yellow out and have tried sanded with 2000 grit sandpaper but they are still visible do oyu know what is the best thing to take out the scrathes. I heard to get some 2500 paper and plastic polish just wondering if you know what to use I figure while they are taken apart I may as well clean them up.

There are special pads that you can use to polish the plastic lenses. You can get them at Pep-boys or AutoZone, they work really good. I have used them on a Mustang of mine and they came out really good.

I push the lights out from the back rather than pull, they come out so much easier.

And you can polish the lenses with the restoration kit, but it seems to come back quick. I figure when mine get bad Ill just buy a new set since they are so cheap
