We are seriously looking at buying the 2011 Outback 230rs 27ft super lite toy hauler and the specks are right that we can easily tow it.
We have 5000LB air bags in the rear cause currantly we tow a
2010 Viking V-Trek Legend Toy Hauler Tent trailer with a 2010 Polaris Sportsman 850xp on the deck of it with Ease. You dont even know its back there. But on the RV Forum we were told we need a weight Distribution hitch (WDH) waiting to find out if the WDH or a equilizer hitch is the same thing cause we are newbies! lol But we want to be safe. So any expert advice would be really appreciated. My email is mommie5324@gmail.com Thank you

If you have the factory tow package, more than likely it has a 3.92 gear. You can go to www.dodge.com and go into the "for owners" section and use the "contact us" link. Email them your vin# and ask for a build sheet. The will email you a complete list of all options on your truck.
The proper term is weight distribution hitch. I have one and wouldn't tow without it. It eases the tongue weight and helps stabilize the truck/trailer.
If you are a 2wd like me, your max towing cap. is about 8800lbs.
