Default Hid's causing static in my radio.

I just put in a set hid's from hidextra in my fog lights and now there are a couple of a.m stations that don't come in anymore, not really a big deal I listen to my iPod about 99% of the time but my ocd kicks in when something on my truck doesn't work right. Anything I can do? My truck is an 2004 if that matters.

Thanks

A very common issue with HID ballast. A ballast is a very strong transformer than emits EMI/EFI and causes the interference. Only thing to do is try to relocate them and try a cleaner, more solid or better ground also.

You can also try wrapping the ballast in foil for a quick and cheap solution.

Copper tape will also shield EMI/EFI.

Where did you place your ballasts?

Years ago, come manufactures would make their radio chassis out of copper to reduce or stop EMI/EFI.

But we all know what happened to the price of copper since then

I put mine on the support bracket right next to the fog light.

When the prices of copper first started to sky rocket, the theft of wire from light standards was rampant around these parts. I remember a couple years back one guy electrocuted himself and died trying to steal some.
