Has anyone used sea foam befor and what were your results? I was thinking about trying a bottle in the fuel tank and one down a vaccum line.

 

What vacuum line is it. Cause the bottel says to make sure you use a vacuum line the feeds all 8 cylinders...

 

Do a search on the site and you will find lots of info on guys using seafoam. You can find vids on youtube as well.

However, buy ONE can and use 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in the engine oil and 1/3 in the vacuum line for the brake booster.

 

I'm a BIG fan of Seafoam.. I use it every other oil change and at every tune up...

that being said- AIN'T NUTHIN GOING IN MY CRANKCASE BUT OIL YO.. If I were to use it in the oil, it would idle in place no more than 2 minutes before I dumped it, replaced the oil, and replaced it again within a couple hundred miles.. Helz no- there is NO WAY I'd put a spirituous based solvent in my crankcase- only during extreme situations like massive sludge problems- but even then, regular oil changes and you'll not see sludge either..

I absolutely love the stuff in the booster vacuum line, and in the tank though.. It's magic there.

 

yea I wasnt too keen on pouring a detergent in my crankcase lol. Right before an oil change I guess itd be alright.

With me having a 4.7 I should probably start the stuff though

 

I have never put it in the crankcase, but I've seen both my old man and grandfather put it in, especially when working on older cars with black, nasty oil. Usually ran it for a good 20-30 mins then empty it all out.

I wouldn't do it and drive long or far with it in there, more of a just before changing the oil thing to get the sludge loosened up...

 

Im not a fan of it in the engine oil either and i know I have shared with you guys my horror story of when i put Marvel Mystery Oil in my Olds engine once. That chit literally ruined my engine.

 

I like MMO, but have never put it in any engine as an "additive". The best thing about MMO is that water molecules REALLY adhere to it. The old redneck way to get water out of an engine if you've swamped it (assuming you haven't hydrolocked the thing) it to empty all the water & oil out of the engine & put in straight MMO crank it for 10 mins and drain. Then do half MMO/half cheap oil, run 10 mins and drain. Continue doing this until there is no "milkyness" to the oil on drain, then put in some cheap oil and drain after a few short uses.

Have done this with more than one ATV with great results...
