Default throttle - resistance values needed

Hi guys,

I’m recently ran into a problem with my truck over the weekend where I got the ETC flashing bolt and all the coded that come along with it. I did the whole throttle body cleaning bit as advised here on the forum but that still didn’t fix the problem. Well me being the kind of guy I am, I need to know exactly what’s causing the problem and why. I removed the throttle body and measured the resistance of the potentiometer internal to the throttle body and was getting some measurements I wasn’t convinced were accurate so I was hoping someone on here could tell me what the values (Ohms) of the throttle body pot should be and perhaps also for the linier transducer used for the gas pedal. This will help me determine exactly what part needs to be replaced.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Just because you get the lightning bolt doesnt mean it is the TB. I was working on a truck once and a valve was stuck open. Because when we were3 cranking it and the valve was closing, it was pushing air back up through the intake and against the TB plate and not letting it open so it threw that code.

Point is, think outside the box.

So how'd you figure that one out? I replaced the TB yesterday and gave the truck a tune up but still the lightning bolt remains and I get the same there codes. I can't think of what it could now other than the actuator connected to the pedal; Any thoughts?

I figured my issue out at that time by doing a compression check which led me to inspect that cylinder and check the valves. The valves were moving up and down as they should but I had to pull the intake and watch them move to verify they were closing. In my case, they were not.

What DTC codes are you getting? It could be your APPS.
