Default 2003 Ram 1500 4.7 v8 RPMs Surging and Engine Stalling

After searching through umpteen forums and threads, I still cannot seem to find an answer. 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 v8 has rough idle with rpms surging from 400-1000, if it drops below 400 the engine dies. While driving at a constant speed the rpms will surge up 200-300. Coming to a stop light, the engine will die. Throttle body and IAC were cleaned thoroughly. I've also read that others have changed just about every other single component related to this problem and it still hasn't fixed the issue. Anyone else had this problem and found a fix yet?

Welcome to the site.

I know in some cases it could be not enough timing given to the engine from the PCM. i had that issue with my custom tuning but because I am custom tuned I had the issue resolved.

Throwing NO CODES at all! We've hookep up the OBD and checked out everything thinking at first it could be the TPS, but all looks fine while running at idle and with it surging. I've read that others have done a complete tune up, changed fuel pump/filter, TPS, IAC and nothing so far has worked.

I hope this helps everyone with the stalling problem. I took my 08 Ram 1500 4.7L into the Dodge dealer today. I told to service rep that it will stall out when stopped at a stop light or just idling. Also when cruising at hwy speed it would jump up in rpm's and come back. The checked it out and said they found some internal codes in the PCM one was a P0608. The flashed and upgraded my PCM and installed a new battery and said I should be fine. I will see. Hope this helps.
