Question Lamp Out

i have an 02 1500 5.9l quad cab and sporadically when driving down the road the lamp out indicator on the dash will flicker and ding the alarm, however my headlights are working fine. Is there a relay or something that these trucks have to make the dash lights go off that i should be checking or just go through all my connections and make sure they are tight? Any input would be great i'm tiered of hearing the dinging lol.

I'd say you have a light going bad. That tends to happen a week or so before a bulb burns out.

I'd check the tail light circuit boards they have a tendency to burn up, or go bad, you can buy them cheap on rockauto.com

I know exactly what you're going through, you have a loose connection between the bulb and the little squeeze bracket what connects the wire from the bulb to the circuit itself. I had the problem in my tail light, I removed the lights one by one and found the bulb that was causing it because it had already started heating up due to the current and mealted the plastic on the lower bulb housing, it eventually melted it enough to where there was poor contact which caused the ding to go off and on... very irritating! anyhow i just bought a new bulb but on the tail connector i used some needle nose plyers to squeeze the two metal tabs closer to each other so when i insert the bulb it's got a tighter fit. It took care of the problem.
