$35 EVIC with homelink: ebay and ebay again and without homelink (yes, Jeep had an EVIC w/out the homelink option).
$45 EVIC from LKQ (ebay): here

$70 OTIS w/homelink: here. Notice that the labels for the buttons are not printed on the buttons, and that there is no "menu" button. This is how you know it is an OTIS and not an EVIC.
Plethora of RAM OTIS options: here

You'll see that ebay has some OTIS units for the RAM that say they go up to the '06 model year, but this is incorrect. Yes, they will fit in the opening, but they will not communicate with the CANbus in the '06.

Now, some things to think about:
Since your truck is not CANbus, the overhead computer is what performs the calculations for MPG, DTE, etc. If you swap in a unit from, say, a Jeep with a smaller gas tank, then those calculations will be off. This can be fixed at the dealership, or so I've heard. If this concerns you, then I would stick with the units that were made for the RAM. If you search long enough, and are lucky enough, you can find an EVIC that actually came out of a RAM Laramie, but they are exceptionally rare. The link I posted for the RAM OTIS units would be a direct swap. Take yours out and put the new one in place, done. This is certainly not a difficult mod, and the fact that you already have an OTIS gives you a leg up.

Now this I am very interested in. Link?

That's a generic pic from the internet to help explain what the EVIC does. Since your truck is an '06, your only option is an EVIC from another CANbus equipped vehicle. The easiest ones to find are for the '04+ Dodge Durango, since they have been CANbus for a little while now, and the unit is the same fit as in the RAM.

**edit**
Check out my post here for more specific info regarding the '06-08 EVIC swap.

Also try this:

4. Release buttons after you see the software revision appear on the display

5. Following completion of the tests, the EVIC will display one of the following messages:

Pass Self Test
Momentarily depress the Reset button to return to the compass/computer display mode. The EVIC is working properly.

Failed Self Test
The EVIC module has a failure. The EVIC module is faulty and must replaced.

Not Receiving J1850 Message
The EVIC is not receiving proper message input from the PCI data bus. This can result from one more faulty electronic modules in the vehicle, or a faulty PCI data bus. The use of a DRB scan and the proper Diagnostic Procedures manual required for further diagnosis.

Yeah and it showed up with the Not Receiving J1850 message. Someone told me that it's because the part number is wrong. Is there a way a Dodge garage can make it work you think?
