Maybe if a dealer reflashed it, but good luck finding someone who will. I don't know of any dealer who would even touch such a thing. Looking at my other post, I see where it may have been confusing. There are many part numbers and revisions of the Jeep EVIC, and not all of them work in our truck. I was merely compiling a list to show you what the EVICs look like and what you should expect to pay for one. I see two possibilities at this point. One, the EVIC is incompatible and cannot read the signals on your PCI bus. Two, your PCI bus is simply sending a bad signal, which would have been why your OTIS crapped out on you. I would lean towards number one, but let's make sure first. Plug your OTIS back in and perform the same test on it as you did on the EVIC. If it displays "BUS", you've got a much bigger problem.

J1850 is the PCM Protocol our trucks use to communicate

Correct. Which means either the EVIC doesn't understand what the computer is trying to say (because it's programmed for a different computer), or (much less likely) the computer is sending garbage info. Maybe a wire is grounding out on its way to the overhead. To rule out wiring and the computer however, it would be best to see what the self-diagnostic of the OTIS tells you.

Wow, what a find! That model is extremely rare, and has both instant MPG and the TPMS system. Came in the Grand Cherokee's I believe.

Might depend on if it had a factory OTIS install. I swapped from an OTIS to an EVIC and my '03 BCM was a picky bitch. I tried SEVERAL different numbers from different vehicles (Grand Cherokee, 300, Liberty, Durango), the right P/N for that year Ram was the only one that worked CORRECTLY, meaning my temp readout was correct & all programming options worked correctly. I ran into the same problem when I spliced it in to my wife's Liberty. Some of the functions would work, some wouldn't. Once I got the right P/N, all was well.
