Default 4.7 fix

does anyone know a sure fix for the cold start tap or tick or knock or whatever you want to call it. i had the whole timing set replaced a few weeks ago but did not fix the problem and has the exhaust manifolds checked also so i know thats not the problem if anyone knows what the noise is and what a sure fix is that would be great

its the valves. it says in the manual it can take a min for it to go away and its normal. yes its loud, but mine goes away after about 15sec - 30sec's.

how do you know its the valves for sure and what does it say in the manual

HMMM, I never paid any attention to that in the manual, but I have a Hemi so it doesn't pertain to me.

Think it's under the gas section of the manual. I forget I just stumbled on to it looking for something totally unrelated. But it's in there. I'll try to find it this afternoon after school

My bad it's called spark knock. Page 366 in a 2008 maunal. So I'm guessing this is gas related nothing to do with the the valves at all so forget what I said

NOBODY knows for sure what the hell it. Even those of us who are mechanics by trade or life-long shade-tree'ers like me have no idea without hearing it first hand.

Can you take a video and post it???
