Default Dome light and dinger delay

About a week ago the dome light and dinger started going off about 5 sec. after the door is opened. If another door is opened or closed they will come back on. Has anyone heard of this or how to fix it?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Might be the switch which is located in the door latch. try spraying wd-40 in the latch assembly and open/close the door a few times.

maybe I'm reading this wrong, but I don't understand?
When something "starts going off", this is usually referred to as a 5sec delay before making any sound. BUT, it almost seems as if you are saying the buzzer and dome light are On for 5seconds and then turn off on their own???
Which is it?

sorry for the confusing wording. the buzzer and dome light are On for 5 seconds and then turn off on their own. Then if you close the door or open another door they will come back on for the same amount of time and then turn off again.

First have you changed your programming? i know you can set certain things yourself though the locks, switches, etc.
There is a problem within the programming or you have a faulty pcm.
The standard is closer to 3min. I've worked on my truck ALOT at night with the doors open. After 3 or 4min, the power cuts to the lights, which is to save the battery incase you have a brain fart and leave your dome light on. Maybe it's 5min, but it's not less than 1min.
I would start by checking the power that feeds the dome light circuit and make sure you are getting proper voltage. I believe it's around 5v? There are manual downloads over in the FAQ section that weedahoe has posted.

The dome lights work off off 555 circuits. If voltage is reduced to the circuit, the caps can only hold that much of a charge. 5sec discharged sounds like a possible pinched wire to me. That or if you have a programmer, reload your tune as it'll flash you computer settings. You could check for DTC codes. Chrysler specific codes such as >Cab bus B- circuit high/low<...etc Not too sure if Advance auto type tuners grab those specifics/?Maybe a number that you have to look up on your own to find the manufacturers specific codes? My orange AAuto one doesn't but my Superchips does.
Check your fuses, maybe it's getting backfeed and not actual circuit power? just ideas...

I ended up removing the neg. battery cable for a few minutes. That seemed to fix the problem.

I misread it too, I thought there was a 5 sec delay before coming on.

The pcm must have had a glitch in it.
