I got a rearview mirror for free and was wondering what the six wires where all for when wiring it up? Does anyone know what ones are for power and ground? Can't seem to find a good source for the info needed.

You will need to specify the doner vehicle to determine the wiring colors of that harness.
What are all the buttons for?

Please also specify your vehicle year to look it up.

So far u have found the wires go up the pilar on the drivers side, there are only 3 wires on the 02/03 mirror, power ground and a reverse input.

 

It came out of a 2003 Chrysler Town&Country minivan and I wanted to put it in my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500.

The buttons are OFF and AUTO. It has 3 sensors on it too. One that faces the driver, one out the wind shield, and the last faces up and is located at the mount on the glass.

I still have the harness that hooks in the back with 12" of wire on it.

 

I pulled this from a 2006 Dodge Ram manual. I'd assume 07/08 were the same and not sure about prior years. Should be close, maybe swap a pin or two out if the connector is the same?

This connector is a 7slot rectangular plug. If you lay the connector flat with the black tab up as your looking at it, the numbers are reversed. Pins 7654321

This is for a small square plug Again, looking at the pin face with the tab pointed up, the numbers are reversed. #1 is top right and #12 is bottom left.
