Default bumper

i was looking at lmc and i was wondering if you could put a sport bumper on a pick up with a regular bumper or do i need extra hardware?

yea, bumper comes off...there is a bumper like frame that the sport one bolts up to.

I wanted to bump this up to get more information.

So YES, the sport bumper cover bolts right up to the existing bumper beam, or NO, you need to buy "bumper like frame" to make it work?

i couldn't tell you wish i would of took pics from when i had my bumper off to show you what mine looks like there isn't a whole lot to the sport bumper that holds it on.

ain't never done it, but the frame is the same in all 3rd Gen 1500s, only thing I know is the mount holes changed from the '02s to the '03s.

Might be a bracket of something, but call LMC Truck on the phone, they got some real knowledgeable sales people there. They must be one of the few places that actually still TRAIN their sales staff...

I actually had the same question a couple of months ago and found out (in this forum) that the sport bumper COVER is mounted to its own "sport" bumper frame because the frame has notches that the a regular bumper frame dont have. in other words, the Sports Edition and regular SLT have different bumper frames.

so I guess you would just buy the frame which would match up to the standard mounting holes and attach the sport bumper to that? Basically a 2 piece solution...
