I dont think i need one to start the truck as the key i have is just simply a key, no electronics on it. All i want is to be able to open and close the door locks remote. But i dont have a remote fob to program a new one with.

Me, too. I bought two fobs off eBay and used the one that came with the truck to program the new ones. Done and done.

not all dealers are crooks, my dealer programmed the one i bought off ebay and cut the key for $89.00. Now 5 months later it stopped working. i went back to the dealer to have it looked at and they found it to be the fob. They replaced it with a brand new one for free!!

Considering what they charged the first time, they had room to provide a replacement fob.

My local Home Depot has a vendor who comes in twice a week and does the "chipped" keys. Cost me $80 plus tax.
