I recently bought a 2003 ram 1500 w/ hemi engine, it has what I call a stiff not sticky gas pedal. I also have a 2002 ram 1500 5.9 engine and the gas pedal pressure is effortless on the 2002, is the stiff gas pedal on the 2003 normal or do I have a issue ?

 

Just get under there and check the tension or spring mechanism on it and lube it if needed. make sure no wires or anything are caught in it

My buddies 05 was like that when i drove it. I asked him what was up with it and he was said that was normal. I did him a favor and cleaned his throttle body (lots of carbon build up) and made sure everything was free moving. I put it all back on and it was like butter then. Not real sure what it was but there was some corrosion on the return spring. Like weed said you will just have to investigate.
