Sorry guys. Didn't mean to come off "pissy". Thanks to Geezer and Brand for the info. It gives me an idea for a relay triggered power supply that will give me the power I need for the radios I plan to install. I have a 40 channel SSB Galaxy and an Icon 2m/70cm. I think the 20 amp wire will do just fine. I can hook up a relay that is triggered by my in-dash radio to supply the 20 amps I need. Since the factory radio stays on when the ignition is turned off till you open the door, it will serve my purpose and kill power to the two transmittres I'm installing.

Thanks again for all the help!

Too many times I've gone to grab a piece of equipment with a hard wired radio and had it not start because of drained batteries.
And on the flip side: if I'm in camp and waiting for colleagues to arrive, I'll often want to leave the radio on and the window open, in order to "keep an ear out" -- but without powering other truck accessories or leaving the keys in the ignition.

To each his own.

It should be for the power seat OPTION that I am guessing yours does not have. It would handle your CB or Ham radio without even knowing it is there, unless you are going to put one huge *** linear behind it.. even then it should be fine..
