Default need help

got a 02 ram 1500 with the 360 and the problem im having is its running hot ive put electric fan on new radiator water pump thermostat cts sensor i checked it with a heat gun and top hose runs 195 botom hose 170 200 at cts sensor while the temp guage is at the 3 quarter mark both heater hose are hot dont no what else to check

Sounds like the sending unit or the gauge. Those temps are 'bout right, although there doesn't seem to be enough drop from top hose to bottom. Maybe it wants to be burped?

Was it overheating before the efan and other changes or a result of those changes???

it wasnt overheating before all of the changes just got alittle warm when pulling trailer but now the needle pegs out sitting in park idleing but the motors not that hot i check the instrument cluster by hitting the trip butten and turning the key to on and it goes through calbration and it came up with 0 fault codes is there a second sensor that controls the guage

Did you check the thermostat to see if it functions properly? Boil it in water, I had to test 3 before I got one that worked right

+2 on the thermostat check, same thing happened to me, as well as burp the system and check the sending unit they are notorious for giving false readings.

so i hooked up a scanner and it was reading 250 witch is bout peg out on guage checked temp on upper hose and it was 195 same at thermostat housing lower hose 170 cab vents blow out at 180 if the blowers running on high it only reads 3 quarter on guage witch is about 230 and it mantains temp shut it off and burries needle i pulled out the old stat and put new one in didnt check it but later i checked the old one i had in there and seemed it be opening and closing just fine any ideas

truck is fianally fixed burped the system with matco SFF2A no spillable funnel and problem solved runs cooler than ever with electric fan setup thanks guys for ideas
