Default Magnaflow Hanger tip

Myself and others have noticed that the excellent Mahnaflow cat-backs are top notch except for the cheesy driverside tailpipe hanger. It is way too soft and allows the driverside tailpipe to bounce arouns some while the passengerside is nice and solid.
I found a cheap fix for this. I went to AutoZone and picked up a new rubber hanger in the exhaust aisle. It is much thicker than the one that comes with the kit and holds the pipe in place much better. Best of all it was under $5

I just buy the stainless "J" hook looking hangers and weld them on both sides, they are simple, cheap enough and outlast the truck. The times I've used the rubber shock absorber thingy's, the rubber lasts fine, but the hardware around the thing has rusted out...

It already has a j-bolt bolted to the frame and one welded to the pipe. I sometimes switch back to the stock system from time to time so I need to keep it all bolt-on

That's because almost all the hardware muffler kits I have seen are all uncoated mild steel. I spray everything I install. It doesn't last forever but it delays the processs by a year or so up here in the Northeast.

Do you have a picture of the cheesy tailpipe hanger? I might have an even more simple solution like running a ziptie around the outer perimeter. That would make the rubber stiff as a board up/down but allow some side-side movement.

It has a real thin outer wall. Good for isolation, bad for keeping the pipe still.
