4.7 Coolant leak.
I'm new to the 3rd gen forum after being part of the 4th gen forum for 2 years. 4th gen is gone
Anyway. I just got an 03 4.7 with 80k miles and it has a coolant leak that I can't figure out. It doesn't leak at all when idling or even driving normally. When it revs up coolant leaks out of some location I can't find on the passenger side. When I rev it up to 3-4k in park, coolant starts pouring out.
Also I changed my spark plugs and all but 3 had coolant on them, they were also corroded from sitting in coolant. Oil looks good and theres no exhaust coming out of the radiator. Trucks runs perfect. Any ideas??
Thanks

Yep, hope for the head gasket, the 4.7 has a head crack issue. I just posted on this in another thread, hold on, let me find it and link it...

Hammer, I don't want to jack the thread, But I am thinking ahead, and in the dark space in the back of my head I was thinking. What can be done to keep this motor running when it comes time to retire the truck at the local demolition derby. They let us run pickups, and 80's Dodges 225/318 usually win. Does it even stand a chance, or do I pull the motor and drop in a 225 slant 904 combo. I think that the rest of the truck is built to take a beating. 168,000 now 300,000 is D-Day.
I totally agree with the head gasket or head issue.
