Well here is what I can offer.

1. Check the manual for tranny fluid specs. I used to work on cars for a while and I dont remember the specs.

2. If not mistaken. If your under the vehicle there shoudl be a fill plug and a drain plug. I beiieve it a bolt head of 15/16 inch thats how you identify.

3. Pull fill plug first before drain plug.

4. empty fluid

5. put drain plug back in.

6. fill with fluid according to manufacturer or other people suggestions here.

Sorry I dont remember specs but it should be in that manual...I think its a synthetic of some sort but not 100%.

I thought there was a bolt you took out after you drain and put your plug back in that will let it drain out encase of over filling the trannie?

if for some reason you overfill it, just let the fluid trickle out of the fill plug and you should be ok. When I used to work on cars, the first time i drained trannys from the factory they would be overfilled at times. You can pull the fill plug and stick your pinky finger in there to see what the fluid looks like as well.

When you stick your pinky finger in there you should be abled to feel it right on the tip if its filled properly. You said it only has 34,000 on it. Is that HWAY or stop n go. That make a big difference on when your fluid should be drained and refilled.

Also do your race, do you off road do you tow. Those things also come into play. Its really easy to do a manual tranny fluid change. you just have to make sure you have a way to get the fluid back into the tranny.

We used to have a pump with a nozzle attahced so it would take like 5 minutes. you have to figure something out to get the fluid back in. You just cant pour it from the bottle back into the tranny due to where the plug is located.

It's real easy, just like was already said pull the fill plug then the drain plug. Let it drain out, clean off the magnet on the drain plug, replace drain plug, refill until it flows out the fill hole. The fill hole is on the passenger side of the tranny and is a large allen wrench type bolt, I believe the drain plug is the same size. You can use pennzoil synchromesh which will probably be the cheapest and easiest to find, RP synchromax, amsoil has a fluid, and redline also has an MTL that works well. From all I've read RP and redline are the best choices for smoother shifting, I run RP in mine.
